Patrick McCaffrey Ph.D. is a professor of communications arts and sciences at California State University, Chico. Dr. McCaffrey is originally from Ireland where he went to National school and secondary school. He received his bachelors degree from Curry College in Massachusetts and his Master’s degree from Montclair State in New Jersey. He received his Ph.D. in speech pathology from Ohio University in 1975, the same year that he came to CSU, Chico. Dr. McCaffrey received the CSU, Chico Master Teacher award from 1995-97. He also received the California State University Professional Achievement Honor for Significant Contributions to the Field of Communication Sciences and Disorders. He has had four articles published in national referred journals and presented at the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association on "Computer Lab on Neuroscience of Communication Disorders on the Internet" and the "Role of Lombard Effect in Tracheoesophagaeal Speech". Some of his interests include neuroscience, the Use of World Wide Web in Teaching and learning and his 1979 Harley motorcycle with attached sidecar which was once owned by Neil Diamond.
