Learning Objectives:

  1. SLPs will identify the components of a standard assessment of stuttering and procedures used for meaningful assessment in the school setting.
  2. SLPs will understand the treatment goals and activities that are possible for use with adults and adolescents who stutter.
  3. SLPs will describe treatment approaches that address various aspects of the stuttering problem, including affective, behavioral, and cognitive reactions to stuttering.

Rodney M Gabel, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an associate professor in the Department of Communication Disorders at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). He directs the Multifaceted Stuttering Therapy for Adolescents and Adults who Stutter at BGSU and is the director of the Telepractice Program.
