William P. Murphy, MA, CCC-SLPWilliam P. Murphy, MA, CCC-SLP is a board-recognized specialist and mentor in fluency disorders and staff speech language pathologist at Purdue University, specializing in the treatment of stuttering for children and adults. He has presented numerous workshops throughout the U.S. and Canada. His publications address the role of shame and guilt in stuttering. He feels that stuttering therapy should address speech motor patterns and the many negative attitudes and feelings that may co-occur with the disorder.
