Author Sarah Melamed received her M.S. in speech and hearing science from Wayne State University in 1998. She worked as a clinical audiologist until 2002 and then pursued a Ph.D. degree (2002-2006). She obtained her Ph.D. in 2006 in audiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following graduation, she worked at the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research at the Portland VA Medical Center (2007-2009) as a post-doctorate research associate. Her research interests focus on auditory perception with an emphasis in auditory electrophysiology, tinnitus, and psychoacoustics. Currently, she works as a clinical audiologist in Michigan providing auditory diagnostic testing and rehabilitative services for adults and children.
