Kathie Harrington, M.A., CCC SLP Kathie Harrington received her Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from Truman State University, Kirksville, MO, in 1981. She practiced speech/language therapy in the public schools in Kirksville and in Las Vegas, NV for eighteen years and served as a mentor for the autistic population. Since 1998, Kathie has served the Las Vegas Valley with her private practice, Good Speech, Inc. and has been a member of many state and local autism boards.

Kathie knows autism. She has a grown son on the autism spectrum and has lived in that world for over forty years. Kathie is a popular national presenter on the topic to both professional and parent groups with her warmth, knowledge, and inspiration.

Kathie shares her experiences and writes about autism on blogs, in feature articles, and in books. Her two books published in 2012 by Ink & Quill Publishers, Henderson, NV, are: Tears of Laughter ~ Tears of Pain – Stories & Strategies for Parents and Professionals for Young Children with Autism & ASD, and I Never Told My Son He Couldn’t Dance – Stories & Strategies for Parents & Professionals of Adolescents & Adults with Autism & ASD.
