Board Recognized Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. Cindy is presently working with school age children in the Alachua County Schools, in Gainesville, Florida, as well as performing diagnostic videofluorographic swallowing evaluations and treatment for an area ENT group, and PRN in an acute care hospital. She has just completed eight years as a Clinical Speech-Language Pathology Faculty member at the University of Florida specializing in adult acute and subacute care, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of swallowing and communication disorders in the adult population, both inpatient and outpatient. She joined the Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Florida in 1996, and served as the Continuing Education Administrator for six years along with clinical duties. During this time, the Florida Dysphagia Institute was created, with Cindy as the conference coordinator. Prior to this appointment, Cindy spent two years as a director of rehabilitation in a long term care facility, and twenty years before that as a public school SLP both in Florida and Michigan (GO BLUE!!) Cindy is a member of ASHA and FLASHA, and ProCourse is an ASHA and State of Florida CEU Provider.
