A Phonemic Approach to /r/ remediation offers a different methodology for /r/ remediation. Taking existing techniques and concept, the author has applied basic phonological principles to break down /r/ to its most fundamental components. It is based on the author's book The Entire World of R Instructional Workbook.

At the successful completion of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the 8 variations of /r/
  • Identify the 21 variations of /r/
  • Generate appropriate word lists based on the phonemic /r/ strategy
  • Develop other remediation exercises based on the phonemic /r/ strategy

Author

Christine Ristuccia received her Master of Science degree in communicative disorders at the University of Redlands, Redlands, CA and a Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences from San Diego State University. Ms. Ristuccia is an experienced school-based speech-language pathologist, and has worked with a wide range of communicative disorders ranging from preschool through adulthood. She also develops and publishes clinically tested educational teaching tools through her company, Say It Right.
